Adding a Frenchie to your family

The Frenchie is an intelligent dog that will love strangers and other pets and love nothing more than to be with their humans, big or small. They love people and are especially good with children. Frenchies are excellent companions. They have a comical personality and a sweet nature. They rarely bark, unless they are asking for attention. They love to dress up and go for walks. Your Frenchie will gladly share the sofa for an evening of television or even better, share your bed at night. They are curious and can get themselves into trouble if not watched.

Why Us?

After we thoughtfully choose new families for our puppies, we stay in touch and offer the same level of care to our families that we did for our puppies while raising them. We exchange photos, videos, experiences and, of course, our incredible love for the Frenchies. If you get to meet one of our dogs, it will be love at first sight. All of our puppies are truly gorgeous with beautiful personalities.

origin of Frenchies

Frenchies—the nickname for French bulldogs—have a lineage that goes all the way back to the ancient Greeks. The dogs made their way to Britain where they were bred to taunt bulls, a popular sport at the time. By the time bull-baiting was banned in 1835, the dogs were already being bred as wonderful companions. British workers moved to France in the mid-1850s and brought their miniature bulldogs with them. The French went mad for the little dog and our enduring love of the Frenchie was born.

FRENCHIE FACTS

  1. French bulldogs LOVE people! They love anyone and everyone.

  2. Bulldogs are considered a "silent breed". Simply put they don't bark much, which is good for you and good for your neighbors.

  3. French Bulldogs can make good apartment dogs. These dogs don't  require tons of space as long as you don't leave them alone too long.

  4. Frenchies enjoy walks. They are a moderate energy dog so short walks  get the job done. They WILL NOT be your running buddy. No collars, body  harnesses only.

  5. Frenchies love order and cleanliness.

  6. French Bulldogs love spending time with family indoors. Nothing is better then snuggling up with your puppy on cold winter days.

  7. French Bulldogs are independent, funny, obedient, protective and  affectionate. All pluses for a family pet. They have also been known to  have a so-called "sixth sense" when it comes to protecting children.

  8. This is NOT an outdoor dog!! This is a Brachycephalic breed (flat faced) and pants inefficiently. Heat stress can cause the throat to swell, rapidly increasing overheating, and restricting airflow into the  respiratory system. They can DIE from overheating very easily.

  9. This dog should not be left in your car. If your car is too hot for you it is definitely too hot for your Frenchie.

  10. French Bulldogs are very social. One of the best qualities of a Frenchie is its sociable and happy nature. This means it is your responsibility to provide them with plenty of attention. If you work long days or are gone for long periods of time then this is not the dog for you.

  11. French Bulldogs SINK in water. Frenchies have a top heavy frame, chest and head. The French Bulldog cannot swim, and will quickly drown if they are in water where their feet cannot touch the ground. Some Frenchies enjoy water and can do so under close supervision or with a life jacket.

Since French Bulldogs are top heavy, their back legs will not develop as much muscle as their front legs. These dogs are prone to developing joint problems. Excessive jumping or jumping too high and too often may cause joint problems and spinal injuries. All it takes is one jump too many for your Frenchie to get injured. Be sure to not let your Frenchie jump off of tall places. Unlike adult dogs, puppies do not have as much muscles to cushion the impact of their jumps. Therefore it is important to limit their jumping to prevent injury.
